Outdoor Learning
From September 2025 , we will be changing the way we organise our outdoor learning days, as having all classes participate on the same day is no longer practical with our growing school community.
Year groups will partake in outdoor learning on different days, and these will be confirmed once teachers have finalised timetables in September . Teachers will try to keep to a regular day each week and will let you know if there are any changes.
Unless you are notified by your child's teacher that Friday is their outdoor learning day, children will wear normal school uniform on a Friday from September 2025 .
Children will still require named wellies to be kept in school from September
Clothing
We need to ensure that all children are wearing suitable clothing for their outdoor learning session each week. From September 2025, we ask that children wear:
- Black or grey LONG trousers (jogging bottoms or leggings would be fine)
- A plain black or purple t shirt which can be either long or short sleeved but must cover shoulders and not be a vest top. Plain black t shirts can be purchased very cheaply from most supermarkets (cost in ASDA is £2 and other supermarkets sell similar black crew-neck T-Shirts)
- A plain black or purple sweatshirt - also available from supermarkets for approximately £3.50 or an older school jumper , which it does not matter if it gets dirty.
- Trainers
If you are unable to purchase these items for financial reasons, please let us know via email to the school office.
Outdoor learning days:
- Year R - Wednesday from January 7th 2026
- Year 1/2 - Tuesday from February 24th 2026
- Year 3/4 - Thursday
- Year 5 - Friday
Thank you in advance for supporting us with this. It will improve safety for the children and also ensure that we create the correct 'attitude for learning' on outdoor learning days for all. It is important that the children have their legs and arms covered to prevent tics and insect bites or scrapes, which is the purpose of wearing the different clothing, on outdoor learning days.
There will still be regular opportunities for 'non uniform days' organised by our PTA to support with fundraising events.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
