About Me

My name is Michelle Read and I have worked within a school setting as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant since 2013 and as a TA since 2001.  I am also a qualified Emotional Literacy Support Assistant, often referred to as ELSA, supporting the emotional wellbeing of children within our school family.  I am the Family Wellbeing Co-Ordinator for Stoneham Park Primary Academy and am a trained Family Links facilitator.  I am also trained as an adult Mental Health First Aider.  I have three children of my own, one who is a teacher and two busy teenagers.

My Role

From time to time we may come across challenges where we need a little extra help or support.  My aim is to work with you in a relaxed and informal setting to chat and share concerns or issues you, or we, may have concerning your child at home or within school.  This may include financial concerns, health, emotional wellbeing or family relationship challenges or changes. Working together we can put strategies in place to try and provide you with support to help improve the challenges faced or, if appropriate, help you access more specialised help from other services or external agencies.

What We Can Offer

  • Support for you and/or your child.
  • A point of contact to discuss concerns.
  • Someone to listen without judgement in a calm and relaxed environment.
  • Support to promote positive family relationships.
  • Signposting for support or local organisations.
  • Tools to promote wellbeing and positive family relationships.

Suggested Support Network

With many of us often encountering challenges on a day to day, we have put together a list of useful websites, which you may find useful, for additional support.
